Banjo Head Art - inside and out

Just passing through the repair shop yesterday, I spied on the entry table a lonely, small banjo head with markings on the inside.

It came from a pre-1930s Vega banjolin. The illustrations seem to be from the 20s, and the illustrator left his name, Louis Sloat. Very cool. › Continue reading

Relic Battle Royale: Fender Road Worn relic vs. Vintage ‘58 Fender vs. new Seuf OF-20 relic

We’ve already done a Fender Road Worn review and there’s been a lot of talk about how they compare with other relic jobs. Well, we’re lucky enough to have not only the Road Worn, but a real 1958 Fender Telecaster and the new Seuf OF-20 in the store at the moment and we couldn’t help but throw them all in the ring together for a battle royale and see how they compared. We’re a Nash dealer too, but we haven’t got any in stock today. We played each of the guitars through a Dr. Z Carmen Ghia and Eric, John, Jason and shop manager Mike went a round with each guitar. The winner? Well, depends on who you ask.

Note - this tele’s bridge pickup was rewound at some point by Charlie Davis one of ‘the’ Fender guys who probably wound it when it was made in the ’50s.

Jason: The sound on this is the best of all three - the bridge pickup…it has the most body, most bite. The neck pickup is › Continue reading

Keeley Electronics Burns - Hope to be back on track within 2 months

One of our absolute favorite pedal makers, Robert Keeley, suffered a fire at his Edmond, Oklahoma business last week, losing basically everything. An employee stated they should be up and running again within two months. For the full story, check out this link. We wish Robert and his employees the very best and hope for a quick recovery of his business.

Ultimate Pedal Board Now Up

Give different pedals a test run

Give different pedals a test run

Well…it’s not really a pedalboard, it’s a display - we’ve loaded up this display in the store (first floor, second room) with some of our favorites pedals from the Korg Pitchblack Tuner to the Xotic AC Booster, the Keeley Katana, the Fulltone Supa-trem, the ElectroHarmonix Pog and many more. This also includes the Keeley Nova Wah, which is on sale this week - comes with a custom George L cable and free shipping, while supplies last. This board has everything ready to roll so you can just come in, plug in, turn on and test drive any or all of the pedals.
